ICMRBS 2010 Satellite Meetings

Several satellite meetings are planned for ICMRBS 2010. These include:

Advanced Course on Multidimensional NMR - August 16-20, 2010
In the week prior to ICMRBS, an advanced course on multidimensional NMR will be held at the James Cook University in Cairns. Lecturers are S. Glaser (TU München), C. Griesinger (MPI Göttingen), S. Grzesiek (Biocenter Basel), G. Otting (ANU Canberra), A. Palmer (Columbia Univ. New York) and M. Sattler (TU München). The course is directed at postdocs and advanced PhD students with hands-on experience in NMR spectroscopy of proteins. The number of participants will be limited to 40. The Cairns SAXS-SANS-NMR Workshop -- Combining Small-Angle X-ray and Neutron Scattering with Biomolecular NMR - August 21, 2010 - FULLY SUBSCRIBED

This one-day workshop is organized by Terry Mulhern (University of Melbourne) and Yun-Xing Wang (NCI, NIH).  Speakers include Ad Bax, Andrew Byrd, Xiaobing Zuo, Alex Grishaev, Charles Schwieters, Andrew Whitten and Yun-Xing Wang.  This is an intensive tutorial workshop.  The topics covered range from the fundamental principles of scattering phenomena to the practical applications of scattering experiments with a focus on the combined use of scattering and solution NMR.  Visit the website.
The workshop will be organised by NCI, NIH of US, The Australian Synchrotron and Anton Paar (GmbH). Registration is required and will be accessible as part of the ICMRBS registration process. The lecture notes will be available for download prior to the workshop.  The venue will be the Sebel Hotel, Cairns, starting at 9:00 AM and ending at 5:00 PM, Saturday, August 21, 2010. Protein Structure Calculation Workshop - August 30-31, 2010 - Fully Subscribed.
A hands-on workshop covering computational methods for calculating protein structures based on NMR data will be held on August 30 and 31 at the Brisbane Convention & Entertainment Centre (www.bcec.com.au ) in Brisbane immediately after the ICMRBS conference.
This will be “hands-on” course, with all participants requested to bring their own laptop computer. The workshop leaders will be:

Dr. Tim Stevens, University of Cambridge, UK (CCPN)

Registration fees, which will cover lunch as well as morning and afternoon coffee breaks on both days, will be $100 for students and $190 for other registrants.
