COSA’s ASM is the largest gathering of cancer health professionals and consumers in the Southern Hemisphere. Its 2009 Gold Coast ASM attracted over 1100 delegates.  However, with this 37th year’s premier location and collaboration with ANZBTG, 2010 is anticipated to be the biggest year yet. This of course presents a unique opportunity for commercial and community-based organisations involved in cancer control to reach an Australian and International audience of oncologists, surgeons, nurses, pharmacists, allied health workers, researchers, support groups and many others.
The theme, “Cancer and Beyond” covers the scope of the cancer journey from diagnosis through treatment and to the years beyond for both cancer patients and their families and carers.
This year’s scientific program, with its focus on breast cancer, gynaecology cancer, urological cancer, melanoma cancer and translational research, will be complemented by exhibitions, posters and booths promoting the latest in cancer pharmaceuticals, medical, diagnostic and therapeutic equipment and developments in supportive care.  Specific surgical streams will be included to accommodate the newly formed Breast SurgANZ and the Sino-Aust Surgical Colleges Association who have both indicated their participation.
